Alien Isolation 2 Timeline
The sequel is a few months later, not a reboot and not a marine war. Here is the chain we can actually draw.
The chain that is public
Alien: Isolation is set in 2137. Amanda’s story ends with Sevastopol dying and a laboratory module, KG348, jettisoned. Isolation 2, per Hope and previewers, sits a few months later. The module is no longer a rumour around a gas giant. It is a wreck on LV-921, found by a Weyland-Yutani survey tied to Kurosaki Station. Blake is sent. The hatch opens. The hunt resumes. That is the spine. Details live on KG348 and in the plot.
October 2024: sequel confirmed in early development on Isolation’s tenth anniversary. April 2026: False Sense of Security teaser. 5 June 2026: Summer Game Fest title, platforms, Last Chance trailer. June 2026: thirty-minute press sessions. August 2026: gamescom prologue on the show floor, still no date. Those are production timestamps, not in-universe years. Keep them on the release page.
Do not weld this game to every other Alien product of the 2020s unless a developer does it first. Isolation 2’s stated lens is the 1979 film and the first game’s leftover hardware. That is enough timeline to play the opening without getting lost in wiki law.
What we will not invent
No exact in-universe calendar date beyond “months later.” No claimed crossover with named TV episodes. No invented fate for Amanda between narration and the credits we do not have. If a later interview pins a year, this page will move. Until then, the useful timeline is local: cryosleep, arrival, storm, wreck, power, hunt. That local clock is what Blake lives inside, and what the AI ignores while it learns you.
Players coming from the first game should replay the ejection of the lab in their heads before they step onto LV-921. The sequel’s cruelty is that the thing you launched away to save a station becomes the thing a colony digs up. Survival advice does not change because the calendar moved. The survival guide is still the document you want in your pocket.
